The Ichthus Music Festival
In the year 2012 the Ichthus Ministries cease operation after 42 years and therefore Ichthus Festival 2013 was canceled.
The news was announced by the ministry with great sadness.
Ichthus Ministries announced that the difficult decision made by directors came out as a result of financial struggle, market changes, attendance decline and piling debt.
Ichthus Festival was the longest running Christian music festival in the nation, and was held in Wilmore, KY. Mission of Ichthus Festival was to provide students and youth with life changing experience through encounter with Jesus Christ.
The festival began as the brainchild of Dr. Bob Lyon and a group of seminary students at Asbury Theological Seminary in response to Woodstock Festival and similar music festivals of that era.
Originally the festival was an outdoor spring event but the festival was often hampered by poor weather. Beginning in 2006, the festival was moved to mid-June when local weather was more favorable.
The next Ichthus Festival will be on July 8-11, 2015 in Lexington, KY, Kentucky Horse Park
