Enter the Ascenxion Scout Competition for your chance to play Ichthus!

This is your band's chance to gain more experience, get more exposure, and possibly play at one of the largest music festivals in the nation!

Ichthus is partnering with clubs and promoters to hold a series of Battle of the Bands that culminate with the final battle at the 2012 Ichthus Music Festival. The grand-prize winner will get a main-stage slot at the Ichthus festival and will move on to the national competition with a chance to play at 14 Christian festivals in 2013.

ASCENXION SCOUT LOCATIONS:
There are currentlly four different battles in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. The top two bands from each venue will  compete in the Ascenxion Scout Competition at the 2012 festival. You can enter one event or enter them all. Official Ichthus Battle of the Bands venues include:

TWO FINALISTS ADVANCE FROM EACH VENUE TO COMPETE @ ICHTHUS!

The Ichthus battle of the bands, known as The Ascenxion Scout Competition, will be held the first morning of the festival, Thursday, June 21. Each finalist will compete against nine other bands to claim another spot on an Ichthus stage. The higher bands finish in the Ascenxion Scout Competition, the bigger and better their placement on another Ichthus stage. 

The grand-prize winner will get a 10-minute slot on the Ichthus Main Stage and a 30-minute slot on the Ichthus Deep End Stage. The grand-prize winner will also move on to the national competition to compete against 14 other winners from other large Christian music festivals. The second-place band will receive a slot on the Ichthus Deep End Stage. The third- and fourth-place bands will each receive slots on the Ichthus Edge Stage. The remaining six bands will all receive a slot on one of the Ichthus secondary stages sometime during the festival. Each band that qualifies for the final battle at Ichthus will have the opportunity to submit a biography and several mp3s to be used on the Ichthus radio station that broadcasts during the festival.

There will be a $150 performance fee for each of the bands competing at the Ichthus festival. Each band member (on-stage performer) will receive a full-event wristband ($99 value each). All others associated with the band will be required to buy a wristband to gain entrance into the final battle or the festival.

The Ascenxion Scout winner will compete against the other festival finalists and will be both voted on through a national fan voting page and considered by the Christian Festival Association National Talent Search panel.  

Fan voting will take place between September 15 and October 31. The 2012 Christian Festival Association National Talent Search Winner will be selected by considering both the fan voting results and the panel judges’ voting selection.

The ultimate winner of the Christian Festival Association National Talent Search will be Final winner to be selected and notified by November 10, 2012.

The National Talent Search Winner receives:

• A full performance slot at each participating 2013 festivals (stage and time slot to be determined by each individual festival).
• Inclusion on artist list of each participating 2013 festivals.
• Featured on all participating festival websites.
• Promotion on all participating festival Facebook pages.
• Three songs recorded free in the Chicago area.  (Artist is responsible for travel/meals/lodging.)
