What's New in 2010?

What's new this year at Ichthus? A lot. Here's just a sampling of some of the new stuff we've added:

A thrust on the mainstage: This year, Ichthus has added a thrust--a narrow runner that comes out from the front of the stage and allows artists to come out into the audience. Not only that, we've shortened the transitions between sets so that you don't have to wait as long between bands.

Galleria Stage/Coffeehouse: If you're into the coffeehouse vibe, you may be hanging out here quite a bit. Part of the tent is a coffeehouse. Part of it is our Galleria stage--home to acoustic, singer-songwriter, jazz, eclectic, and adult rock bands. Check out Phil Keaggy, Josh Wilson, Aaron Gillespie, Esterlyn, Chasen, and even some surprise artists who are going to unplug for the Galleria Stage.

Global Village: In keeping with this year's causal theme, Ichthus is hosting a Global Village for various global, regional, and local ministries that are serving the poor and marginalized. In the center of the village, Compassion will be setting up a model of a typical Third-World village. Find out how you can get involved with ministries such as Compassion, Word Made Flesh, World Hope, Got Your Back, Christian Appalachian Project, and others.

Ichthus Late Night: In past years, Ichthus has wound down at about Midnight. Not this year...we'll go strong until 2:00 a.m. with late-night movies and artists on various stages.

Community Night: For the first time, Ichthus will power up its mainstage on Wednesday night (instead of Thursday) and invite out residents of Central Kentucky for a community night. In its first year, community night will feature The Newsboys and Tobymac.

Hip Hop on the Edge: While hip-hop artists are sprinkled on different stages throughout the week, we've set aside one afternoon on the Edge stage to focus on nothing but hip hop. The lineup includes LeCrae, Sho Baraka, Grits, KJ-52, and more. Who knows, if it goes well this year, hip-hop may invade Ichthus next year!

Hardcore on the Deep End: While hardcore artists are on the Deep End and Edge stages throughout the week, Friday has been designated as hardcore day on the Deep End. All hardcore...all day long. The lineup includes The Devil Wears Prada, Sleeping Giant, For Today, Impending Doom, Gwen Stacy, mychildrenmybride, and others.
